Privacy Policy

GifMuse is built so that your files stay on your device. The one exception is the AI GIF Generator, which needs a server and is explained below. This page explains what that means in practice, and what little information is handled when you visit the site.
Your GIFs and images
All editing tools (Add Text, Reverse, Background Remover) work inside your browser. The GIFs you open, the text you add and the results you download are not uploaded to GifMuse or to anyone else. When you close the page, they are gone, unless you saved a download.
AI models
The GIF Background Remover uses AI models that run on your device. The first time you use an AI method, your browser downloads the model file and keeps it in its own storage, so the next visit starts faster. The model files come from:
- models.gifmuse.com, our own file storage on Cloudflare (High quality model)
- huggingface.co, Hugging Face (Fast model)
Only the model file is downloaded. Nothing about your GIF is sent. You can remove stored models at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
The AI GIF Generator
The AI GIF Generator on the home page is the one tool that does not run in your browser. When you press Generate:
- Your prompt and settings are sent to our server (a Cloudflare Pages Function) and on to an AI image provider, currently kie.ai, which runs OpenAI's GPT Image 2.6 model and returns the GIF. The provider handles the prompt under its own policies and safety checks, and keeps generated files for a limited time (kie.ai states 14 days). We never send your IP address or any account details.
- The finished GIF is sent back to your browser. We don't store your prompts or the GIFs.
- To enforce the daily free limit, we keep a counter keyed by a one-way hash of your IP address for two days, then it is deleted automatically.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person and not a bot before a GIF is generated.
What is processed when you visit
Like any website, loading GifMuse means your browser connects to a few services. They receive the usual technical information that comes with a web request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested.

Each of these services handles that information under its own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't set cookies.
- We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking.
- We don't have accounts, so we don't collect names, email addresses or passwords.
- We don't sell or share personal information.
Emailing us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply to you.
Children
GifMuse is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
